How to Adjust the Carburetor on a Poulan Pole Saw
- 1). Unscrew the air filter cover and remove the air filter pad from the box. Brush off the area around the cover, the filter and inside the box. Refit the air filter and cover.
- 2). Fill the Poulan pole saw with fresh gas. Start the saw in an area where the chain can’t hit anything while you are adjusting the carburetor. Let the engine idle for several minutes to warm up.
- 3). Locate the idle speed screw on the carburetor, on the back end of the saw. Turn the screw clockwise until the engine speeds up and the chain starts moving.
- 4). Turn the screw counterclockwise until the engine slows down and the chain stops moving. Turn the idle screw to the maximum rpm before the chain begins to spin.
