SEO and Backlinks - The Holy Grail of Driving Traffic

So you have your own website setup and you have no idea how to get traffic to it so you can start making sales.
Am I correct? I was introduced to online marketing several years ago and the one thing that I was good at was building websites.
So I would build website after website just hoping and wishing someone would stop by and purchase something or click on my ads! I was going by the old saying, "If you build it, they will come".
At the time I had over 50 websites and NO traffic and I was getting very frustrated.

The secret to ranking high in the SERPS (Search Engine Results Pages) is to have more back links than your competitors.
You would check the amount of backlinks your competitor has, that's ranked high in the search engines and simply gain more links than them.
There are dozens of ways to get backlinks.

• Submit quality articles to article directories
• Join a forum and put a link to your site in your signature
• Submit your site to quality web directories
• The list goes on and on.
  

I thought I might give you fair warning before venturing out and doing this on your own.
There are a lot of sites out there that will promise you the world when it comes to building backlinks for you.
Be Careful, nothings worse than seeing all your hard work go down the drain.
