How to Detect a Spoofed Mac

  • 1). Click on the Apple menu on the top left corner of your screen. Click on "About This Mac" to see specific details about your system.

  • 2). Click twice on the gray text that shows your current installation of Mac OS X. Write down the serial number that is displayed.

  • 3). Visit Apple's "Service and Repair' website and enter your computer's serial number. If your computer is an authentic Apple product, your current warranty info will be displayed. If another system shows or no results are found, you may have a spoofed Mac computer.
